Begin by opening the Gmail app on your mobile device. If the app is not installed, you can download it for free from the Google Play Store on Android or the App Store on your iPhone.

Step 2: Tap “Add Account”

Once the Gmail app is open, tap “Sign in,” then select the “Add account” option.

Step 3: Choose “Google”

Among the listed email providers, select “Google” since you’re setting up a Gmail account.

Step 4: Create Email Address and Password

Enter your email address on the following screen and tap the “Create account” button at the bottom. Follow the prompts to establish your new email address and password.

Step 5: Configure Your Account

Select your profile picture, input your name, and set any other preferences you desire.

Step 6: Accept Terms of Service

After configuring your account, carefully review and accept the terms of service by tapping “I agree.”

Step 7: Sign In to Your New Account

To access your newly created account on your phone, open the Gmail app and choose from the list of accounts.

Setting up a Gmail Account for an Existing Email Address

Alternatively, you can create a Gmail account using a non-Gmail email address. Follow these steps:

Go through the account creation process on your phone or computer.

When you reach the account creation page, click “Use my current email address instead.”

Enter your existing email address and click “Next.”

Verify your existing email by entering the code sent there. Click “Verify” to complete the process.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully created a Gmail account using your current email address.
